Bluetooth update kicks off Digital EUHA Spring Conference on March 31
The Digital EUHA Spring Conference gets under way this Friday (March 31) with a useful update on Bluetooth LE Audio, a new public access system set to be the standard for users of hearing aids, headsets, and earbuds.
Presented by Nikolai Bisgaard, M.Sc., between 0900 and 0930, New Bluetooth system creates opportunities for hearing aid users is the first of some 17 digital events for basic and advanced level delegates registered for the Conference.
“Since 2014, the hearing industry (EHIMA) has been working with the Bluetooth organisation to create a new platform that can enable broadcasting of audio signals independent of brands. Today, we have brand-specific TV streamers. Soon we will have streamers that can work with any brand, and thus create a new public access system that will be great for hearing aid users as well as users of headsets and earbuds,” explains Bisgaard, who will underline that proprietary standards for iPhone and Android based phones are to be replaced by this new unified standard – BT LE Audio -for transmission of sound signals.
Conference opens up to the English language
For the first time, this digital EUHA event will have an international focus, namely that the lectures will be available in English, in addition to German. Beate Gromke, President of EUHA (European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians) stressed the value of holding this event early in the year, counterweighting EUHA’s major in-person Congress, which takes place in Nuremberg, Germany this year, 2023, from October 18 to 20.
“Providing up-to-date knowledge, our aim at the Digital EUHA Spring Conference is to present topics with a focus on practical application so as to support hearing aid acousticians in their daily work,” said Gromke.
The digital presentations this spring cover a wide range of subjects: AI; OTC; digitisation and sensors in hearing aids; fittings; the IEC 60118-16 standard; auditory processing disorders; auditory therapy; language disorders; current German AWMF guideline on chronic tinnitus; and more.
