Bold roadmap to elevate US audiology professionals unveiled by the Academy of Doctors of Audiology
The Audiology 2050 initiative aims to "solidify the role of audiologists as primary care providers for auditory and vestibular conditions, advance professional standards, modernize audiology’s scope of practice, and enhance patient care".
During its September AuDacity 2024 Conference in Grapevine, Texas, USA, the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) announced the launch of the Audiology 2050 initiative, a framework to strengthen the role of professionals as primary care providers in hearing and vestibular treatment. This roadmap has a long list of objectives and conditions aimed at growth of the audiology profession while keeping patient well-being as its bullseye.
A downloadable brochure from the ADA maps out the objectives of Audiology 2050. The campaign breaks down into seven key aims targeting a comprehensive elevation of the profession within the USA:
