Issue 54 of Audio Infos Latin America, the last edition of the year, offers an overview of what to expect for 2017,
with the upcoming Update Event on Audiology, which will take place in Colombia mid-February, and of course, the VII Iberoamerican Conference on Cochlear Implants and Related Sciences (GICCA), which will be held in Santiago de Chile in April. As always, this event promises to offer a wide and varied range of topics and experiences.
Another highlight includes an extensive explanation of the changes implemented by Phonak and Unitron in Colombia at the managerial and technical levels, by its representatives. In a nutshell, a new entity is to be established, Sonoaudio, which will be the exclusive representative of Phonak Colombia.
In our continued efforts to offer you the best news from around the world, Audio Infos No. 54 also features an extensive interview with Juan Armando Chiossone, Director of the Venezuelan Association of Otology and Neurotology, in which he discusses the difficulties of working in his country, due to a lack of means, economic hardships and a high social debt which does not cover hearing healthcare.
Last but not least, Argentinian otorhinologist Eduardo Hocsman explains the importance of the correct diagnosis of chronic inner-ear infections in order to prevent hearing loss and irreversible consequences.
Along with its special feature on the International Congress of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) in Germany, this issue is definitely a must read!
