Audiology Worldnews (AWN): Nadene, you talk about pauses that bring benefits to the professional, and you shared your perspectives recently at the 2025 American Academy of Audiology meeting held in New Orleans. Are we to understand here the conversion of the concept of pause for thought into pause for mindfulness? Or is there a more complex framing to consider?   Nadene Cherry (NC): Pause. It's as simple as that. We don't need to make it complex or overcomplicate the invitation of pausing - the trick is simply remembering to do it!  Taking a pause and tuning into what is unfolding within you and around you. Pausing is in itself mindful because mindfulness means becoming aware. Without awareness, you would continue working, scrolling, or doing whatever it is you are doing.
