Pull your finger out, Specsavers urges audiologists on earwax removal access and regulation
Some 2.3 million people need earwax removal yearly, according to the Royal National Institute for Deaf People. Key recommendations in a new report led by Specsavers are based on a figure of more than eight million people lacking NHS access due to service gaps across many Integrated Care Board areas.

The recently published 2025 Access to Care Report has called for audiologists across the UK to get moving now on shaping their futures. Action on improving access to earwax removal is vital, says the report, while another key factor in improving high-quality earwax services is regulation, the absence of which is emphasised by the group authoring the report.
