New BAA Scope of Practice document to be followed by NHS-specific application guide
The task of redeveloping the British Academy of Audiology's Scope of Practice (ScoP) Document is made all the more challenging by there being no single regulatory body for all audiology professionals working in the UK, nor any single definition across UK healthcare professions of what constitutes a scope of practice document.

The British Academy of Audiology (BAA) has issued an update of its key document for audiology professionals in the UK in both state and private sectors: Scope of Practice for Audiology Professionals, now downloadable here.
Reviewed every three years and revised as needed, the document aims to define the clinical and professional capabilities of an audiology professional, expectations of audiologists in practice, and links between career levels and capabilities. It has been written by a number of key BAA authors - Dr. Saima Rajasingam, Roger Lewin, Dr Ruth Vickerstaff, Sue Falkingham, Sarah Theobald, and Victoria Adshead - and invited contributors - Feraz Ahmed, Claire Benton, Rachel Bowman, Eleanor Cadman, Gordon Harrison, Alan Hopkirk, Jason Smalley, British Academy of Audiology Board of Directors.
