BAA update – November/December 2025

The Kingdon Review into Children’s Hearing Services has now been published, marking a pivotal moment for paediatric audiology in England. Led by Dr. Camilla Kingdon, the independent report highlights serious and long-standing failings in children’s hearing services, with more than 300 children already confirmed to have been harmed. The British Academy of Audiology (BAA) welcomes the review’s clarity and urgency and has issued a formal response outlining our commitment to supporting rapid reform. BAA President Claire Benton’s comment underscores the profession’s call for action: “This report echoes what audiologists have been saying for years. We now need rapid completion of the review and recall, modern commissioning with clear safety and experience KPIs, a single professional register, and clinically networked services so no clinician is left isolated, and no child is left behind.”
