"Powerful" data shows industry not reaching public on "transformative impact" of hearing tech
The EuroTrak survey is a well-watched barometer of the state of hearing health in nine European countries. It tracks the prevalence, awareness, and impact of hearing loss, as well as the adoption of hearing aids and access to care, providing useful information to guide improvement in many key market areas.

A decline in the UK's hearing aid adoption rate is just one downbeat finding from new EuroTrak data on the state of hearing health in the UK. The results of the 2025 survey, just analysed by the British and Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA), also reveal a failure to improve the understanding of people with hearing loss about the need to address their condition and the probable benefits of doing so.

In his overall framing of the latest data, BIHIMA Chairman Paul Surridge highlighted this awareness gap: "The 2025 EuroTrak data tells a powerful story: hearing technology is changing lives, but we still face a major public health challenge in encouraging people to seek help earlier."
