MED-EL acquires BHM-Tech in all-Austrian merger
The addition of BHM-Tech's sophisticated bone conduction technology broadens MED-EL's portfolio and strengthens its market status.
MED-EL has bolstered its position in the hearing solutions market after its acquisition this September of the expert fellow Austrian bone-conduction hearing systems outfit BHM-Tech Ltd. The buyout effectively retires the BHM founder, Franz Berl (pictured).
There will be a smooth transition, the new owners announced, and Berl will continue to offer his know-how as a consultant. All BHM-Tech employees will stay in their positions and continue working in their familiar surroundings. Financial details on the acquisition are confidential and will not be disclosed by either party.
