AAA in Seattle – Open minds, action, change

With dynamic and innovative presenters speaking to completely packed session rooms (some standing room only!) on hot topics like over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids, amplification, hearing accessibility, vestibular, pediatrics, and more. The Academy was pleased to have such strong attendance with 3,100 attendees, including 145 exhibiting companies filling the expo hall with product demonstrations, education in the HearTECH hub, and showcases of the latest tech.

This year’s annual event had a special focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and hearing accessibility, exemplified by several thought-provoking dialogue sessions, the new Hearing Accessibility Pavilion, and a captivating address by opening Keynote Speaker J. Israel Greene, Greene Consulting Group.

Following opening addresses from Academy President, Virginia Ramachandran and Academy Executive Director Patrick Gallagher, Greene challenged all in attendance to come with open minds, committed to leaving with one action, and one degree of change.

By providing many hours of continuing education credits (CEUs) networking events for students, researchers, professionals, and new professionals alike, as well as panels and discussion forums, the annual Academy conference is a place not only to connect with peers but to foster new ideas and collaborations. The American Academy of Audiology thanks all who were in attendance. May there be many new ideas and collaborations from this group to look forward to!

“The best event of the year for audiologists. A variety of thought-provoking topics on best practices, offering innovation and inspiration to take back to our practices. A wonderful opportunity to reunite with friends and make new connections.” – Amanda Mravec, AuD, UW Health
