The Middle East Otolaryngology Conference and Exhibition takes place this week

ME-OTO 2016 is starting tomorrow, 24th May, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre Dubai, UAE. The three-day event features an educational programme designed to meet the diverse interests of attendees.

The latest developments in otology and audiology, rhinology, laryngology, head & neck surgery, skull base surgery, sleep medicine and speech therapy are covered through a variety of teaching formats that include digital presentations, state-of-the-art sessions, expert panels, debates, and instructional courses.

During the event the 2016 Middle East Otolaryngology Awards will be presented. Winners will be presented with the Ingeborg and Erwin Hochmair Award for Service to the Deaf, the "Arab Health" Personal and Professional Achievement Award or the Karl Storz Award for Excellence in Teaching. New for 2016 is the Cochlear Implants conference track. The 1st World Congress on Cochlear Implants in Emerging Countries: Challenges & Opportunities will run for three days alongside the ME-OTO 2016. Guest presenters from India, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Kenya and Iran (amongst others) will look at the challenges faced with cochlear implants in emerging countries.

237 speakers and 940 delegates from 61 countries attended the 2015 conference which also hosted 65 exhibiting companies. This year’s main sponsors in the exhibition, including Medtronic, Olympus, Advanced Bionics, Cochlear, Med-El, Phonak, Karl Storz, Vienna, ReSound and Smith & Nephew.
