10 is OUT NOW – AUDIOLOGY NEWS UK issue 10 September-October 2024

Audiology News UK issue 10 is out now.

Along with our regular selection of news stories from the audiology profession and industry, issue 10 of Audiology News UK carries a special focus on the sector’s hiring crisis, with insights from the industry on possible solutions. We also ask Boots Hearingcare, GN Group, Hidden Hearing, Leightons, Sonova, and WS Audiology what they have to offer young people who are considering a career in audiology.

Debate on the future of audiology in the UK is heating up. This issue carries an interview with the current President of the British Academy of Audiology (BAA) Samantha Lear, and Vice-President Claire Brenton, who passionately defend free audiology services delivered by the NHS, and the national body’s capacity to keep on delivering. Read the interview online here.

A new Night Time Economy Charter has been launched as a framework for protecting workers in noisy venues. Read about it in issue 10.

We look at the latest results from an annual survey by the British Irish Hearing Instrument Manufacturers Association (BIHIMA) of audiologists’ opinions.

And we continue our support for the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, offering our latest hearing dog pin-up, this time a beautiful black Labrador called Eddison. Check him out!

Plus: a round-up of the recent Scientific Meeting of the British Society of Audiology (BSA), and updates from the British Academy of Audiology (BAA) and the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists (BSHAA)…and more.
