Advanced Bionics (AB)announced that it received approval by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for Neptune™, the world’s first and only swimmable, waterproof cochlear implant sound processor in Australia.
Warranted for use in oceans, lakes and rivers in addition to pools, baths and showers, Neptune is designed to help cochlear implant recipients hear both in and out of the water. William Demant purchases French cochlear implant firm, Neurelec

On the 2nd of April, Danish holding company William Demant announced that it has purchased 100% of the shares in French firm Neurelec SA. The total cost of the acquisition was 57.5 million euros.

Advanced Bionics (AB), a global specialist in cochlear implant technology has announced that its next-generation behind-the-ear sound processor is now awaiting regulatory approval. Recipients in the United States, Canada and Europe who choose AB will soon have the option to select the next processor and hear with the latest technology when it is available, according to a company statement.

FDA gives approval for ABI clinical trial

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given final approval to begin a clinical trial of an Auditory Brainstem Implant (ABI) procedure for children.
