New CEO at Sophono Inc.

On September 4, 2013 Sophono Inc. announced the nomination of Dr. Peter Ruppersberg as new Chief Executive Officer at the company. He will take over from the founding CEO, James Kasic, who will now have a consulting role at the medical device manufacturer headquartered in Boulder, Colorado (USA).

Sophono specializes in abutment-free, implantable, bone conduction hearing systems designed for people with severe to profound hearing loss or impairment.

Dr. Ruppersberg has over 15 years’ experience in technology product strategy, medical marketing, business development and finance, and most recently held the position of CEO at the Valtronic Group, a Switzerland-based company specializing in mechatronics manufacturing solutions. He holds an MD from the University of Ulm, Germany and started his career at the Max-Planck Institute for Medical Research.

“I am pleased to have the opportunity to lead Sophono and look forward to realizing the company’s great potential. We will remain focused on delivering state-of-the-art implantable hearing systems and will work to continuously improve our product quality and customer service,” said Dr. Ruppersberg in a press release. He also indicated that Sophono plans to enter the Asian market to expand its international organization.
