Prof. Kevin Munro joins the Hear the World Foundation Advisory Board

With his outstanding track record, Prof. Munro is “an ideal addition to the Advisory Board”. He has a Master of Science and a PhD in Audiology from the University of Southampton and is the Ewing Professor of Audiology at the University of Manchester. He is Director (Research) of the Manchester Centre for Audiology and Deafness (ManCAD), as well as an Honorary Consultant Clinical Scientist at Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The current Advisory Board is made up of four well-known experts in audiology who serve on a voluntary basis. They advise the Foundation Board when assessing suitable projects and deciding on the level of funding, thus ensuring the foundation’s continued independence. Its current members are Prof. Dr. Richard Seewald, Prof. Dr. Orozimbo Costa, Prof. Dr. Beatriz Noaves and Prof. Dr. Jerry L. Northern.

The Hear the World Foundation (Sonova) supports disadvantaged people with hearing loss around the world and gets involved in prevention. It focuses particularly on projects for children with hearing loss, to enable them to develop at the appropriate rate for their age. Recently, Audiology Worldnews has reported on one of the Hear the World projects running in the Arabkir Medical Center in Yerevan/Armenia.

“We are delighted to welcome Prof. Munro as a valuable new member of the Hear the World Foundation’s Advisory Board. With his outstanding track record, excellent reputation, and extensive network in pediatric audiology, he will enrich the Foundation’s work and contribute greatly to its future development,” explains Lukas Braunschweiler, President of the Hear the World Foundation.
