Sivantos Group has announced the launch of a new hearing aid brand, called Signia. According to a late January newsletter Signia will now be the company’s premium hearing aid brand. In the past, the Siemens hearing aid division already had a model with the same name on the market.

“In the mid-term, Signia hearing aids will be co-branded with Siemens,” says the newsletter. In parallel, the company is preparing for “complete brand autonomy” over the next few years. The new hearing aids should be available in spring 2016 and will carry both brand names.

“With the introduction of Signia, we build our new brand on a solid foundation, co-branding with Siemens over the next few years, while we develop a brand that appeals to a younger target group, which will fuel our growth,” says Sivantos Group CEO, Dr Roger Radke. To reach this younger group, the company plans to make use of “contemporary channels.” The idea is to build “a more emotional, agile and human brand, while at the same time maintaining the Siemens values of innovation and quality,” says the press release.

To achieve its stated goal of becoming the industry leader, the company plans to continue investing in its business. Research and development spending at Sivantos Group for the current year is to be increased by 20% to “fuel the company’s high innovation power.” The company will also further develop its online presence to reach currently unserved clients. With the acquisition of audibene, Sivantos has already gained “a strategic advantage.”

Just one year after the transfer of Siemens hearing aids to Sivantos Group, the company has posted a record year. The company closed the 2015 financial year as “the most successful in the company’s history”. Figures showed over 10% organic growth, above market levels. Revenue for the year running from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015 was estimated to be EUR 835 million, compared to the previous year’s performance of EUR 693 million. Operating profit (EBITDA with normalization) was up “significantly” by 31% from EUR 157 million to 206 million. /p>
