Scrivens gives its top award to long-serving strategy manager

The special Sacha Georgevic Award is reserved by Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care for outstanding employees of more than five years service. Bulger has worked for the firm for 21 years and was deemed deserving of the accolade in Scrivens’ 80th anniversary year. The award’s name pays tribute to the company’s late chairman, father to present chairman Nicholas Georgevic and director Mark Georgevic.

Chairman Nicholas Georgevic commented: “Since Pat joined us at the beginning of 1998, he has been instrumental in professionalising the management of our retail business. All of our current regional management team have been the beneficiaries of his excellent coaching and guidance, as have many of those working in our branches.”

The award winner himself said: “I am honoured to receive such a special award. I have consistently worked with great, passionate and dedicated people and seen the company grow over the years to become a truly national one, while retaining its unique family feel and roots in the Midlands.”

Scrivens currently owns more than 180 stores throughout England. It was started as an eyecare practice in 1938, and has recently seen its growth boosted by the addition of a “Hearing Care” service which also operates in external optical retailers and is present in over 400 outlets.
