Lighter battery solutions for SONNET/SONNET EAS from MED-EL
In light of its participation as a gold sponsor in the 13th edition of the Annual Middle East Otolaryngology Conference and Exhibition, the largest meeting of Otolaryngologists in the Middle East, MED-EL Medical Electronics announced the launch of new rechargeable battery options for the SONNET and SONNET EAS audio processors.
The event is taking place from 24-26 May at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, and is further cultivated this year with the introduction of The 1st World Congress on Cochlear Implants in Emerging Countries: Challenges & Opportunities.
The innovative rechargeable batteries will be available in two sizes: Standard and Micro. The standard rechargeable battery provides up to ten hours of listening, and is fully compatible with WaterWear – the only available water proof solution, available for RONDO, SONNET and OPUS 2 audio processors. Whereas, the micro rechargeable battery is incredibly small and discreet—with the micro battery, SONNET only weighing 8.1 grams on the ear. Both battery packs will be available in the full range of SONNET accent colors.
The easy-to-use batteries can be quickly charged and easily changed. The SONNET Charging System can charge up to four batteries at once and is powered through a USB connection. MED-EL has also introduced the Mini Battery Pack for SONNET, which allows users to connect SONNET to a body-worn battery pack that provides up to 37 hours of use from a single AAA battery.
