Delight Global receives approval from US FDA to market in the United States

From its beginnings in 2010 as a social venture by young entrepreneurs in South Korea, the company has rapidly developed and is now taking a new step in its global expansion. A subsidiary of Daewon Pharm Co. Ltd, Delight began operating in Vietnam in 2016. The company’s goal is to reach an increasing number of international markets. Its next targets are the Middle East and Latin America.

The company partnered with Austria-based Hansaton in 2012 as part of a technical cooperation agreement and recently announced a partnership with a US company, Energous. Energous is a San Jose, California-based company working on wireless charging systems.

As part of the joint project between the two companies, Energous will be demonstrating a new hearing aid design from Delight, showcasing the ability to charge hearing aids simply by placing them on a charging pad. According to Energous, the product from Delight is expected to be available commercially in summer 2018 in Asia, and from the second half of 2018 in the United States.

Progress in wireless charging technology has been rapid over the last few years. Wireless chargers are now a reality, but at-a-distance charging is still thought to be a few years away.
