Humavox partners with Starkey to bring wireless charging to hearing aids

Next generation hearing technologies are becoming much smaller and more sophisticated. However, changing the batteries in these tiny audio devices can be difficult, especially for a portion of hearing technology users, some of whom are elderly and may lack the dexterity to change these small batteries sometimes several times a week.

According to the press release the transition from disposable batteries to rechargeable batteries enabled by the partnership will redefine the user experience.

As part of their collaboration, Starkey will integrate Humavox’s wireless charging technology within a variety of devices from its family of wireless hearing technology brands, including the most advanced and comprehensive hearing solutions available. The technology developed by Humavox fits not only standard hearing devices (e.g. BTEs and RICs), but also custom devices, wireless earbuds, hearables and personal audio amplifiers, that are smaller and unique in shape and therefore pose a challenge in integrating recharging capability.
