Resounding success for IFOS 2017!
ENT World Congress
The IFOS 2017 congress concluded on June 28, after five very rich days, which included conferences, workshops, round tables … all accompanied by an impressive industrial exhibition.
This event was a real success for the French ENT association, which organized the event. Organizers reported that 8,504 participants attended the conference, including 7,600 doctors from 88 countries, establishing a new record for this event. This is the highest attendance ever reported for an IFOS event.

The Canadian ENT Society now has the complicated task of organizing the next international ENT congress in 2021. The Canadian proposal won over the members of IFOS, who expressed as much during a vote of the General Assembly which took place in the afternoon of June 27. However, the votes were close: at the first round of voting, Vancouver tied with Buenos Aires (20 votes). These cities were followed in third position by Dubai (18 votes). A second round of voting enabled IFOS to decide among the aspiring host countries and appointed Vancouver (30 votes against 27 for Dubai and 22 for Buenos Aires).
