The Hearing Care Centre of Colchester (Vicki Skeels) presented a cheque for £2,215 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People in February. The amount was raised over two successful charity events held during 2017 – a Golf Day in September and Charity Quiz Night held last November. Vicki acknowledges that “None of this would be possible without the generosity and support of our clients, hearing aid manufacturers and local business associates.
“Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a charity close to our heart,” she continues. “Modern hearing aids can go a long way towards treating hearing loss for most people. Where they cannot, a hearing dog provides vital support, companionship and rebuilding of confidence for those who are often isolated by profound deafness.” The Centre’s next fundraising event will be a fun Quiz Night in Colchester on 1 June.
